Sassa Swimwear recently launched their Summer Collection, and we have for you no less than designer Gertie Hermanos and Marketing Manager for Barbizon Fashion Inc. Rossana L. Unson to answer a few questions for us!

What was the inspiration for the designs? A lot of things inspired me. Mostly, my inspiration for the designs are a play of geometric cuts with a mix of nature. If you look at each piece, I played with different cuts and the form of each suit while their colors and designs are gathered from the look of nature.

What materials were used? The material for our swimsuits, rash guards, boy leg bottoms , bikini tops and tankini tops is a combination of 80% nylon, 20% elastane which is a two-way stretch material. Our material is tested for color fastness, shrinkage and chlorine. Important also to note, Sassa swimsuits are fully lined and have removable pads.

For our board shorts, our material is 100 % nylon taslon and micro twill. It is tested for color fastness, shrinkage and chlorine as well. The material is suited for the beach because it repels the water.

Could you give us an idea what your target demographic is? Our target market are ladies from the age of 18 to 35. In reality, we actually carry swimsuits for young girls beginning at age 13 or 14 all the way up to 60 or 70 but we mainly target our advertising & PR to the 18 to 35 age group. Sassa swim wear is for those women who are fashionable, trendy and confident and want to have the best that they can get without spending thousands.

What sets Sassa apart? In terms of both active and swim wear, I believe that Sassa is set apart by the fact that we have really good, up-to-date designs that are comparable with international brands in quality. Sassa also offers a wide range of options to customers so that when they go to the store they can buy sets of items so that it looks like they've just bought a whole new wardrobe when actually its a just a few pieces that are mixed and matched.
